Castle Lunch Club

At Castle Furniture Project, we know that sharing a meal is about so much more than food. It is about friendship, conversation and feeling part of a community.

Our weekly Lunch Club provides a warm and welcoming place for people aged 65 and over to enjoy a delicious hot meal, meet new people and spend time with friends in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Whether you come along every week or are joining us for the first time, you'll always be greeted with a warm welcome.

Our Lunch Club takes place every Tuesday from 10.00am until 1.00pm and costs £8 per person, which includes a freshly prepared hot meal provided by Larick Community Centre, along with tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the morning.

As well as enjoying lunch together, members take part in a variety of activities including board games, quizzes, seasonal celebrations and plenty of conversation and laughter. Throughout the year we also organise birthday celebrations and three group outings to local attractions, giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy new experiences and create lasting memories together.

Many of our members tell us that the Lunch Club is the highlight of their week. It offers the chance to stay active, build new friendships, reduce loneliness and simply enjoy spending time with others in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Location

Our Lunch Club is held at:

Servite House
35 Queen Street
Tayport

The venue is fully wheelchair accessible, and on street parking is available nearby.

We also operate a free minibus service for members living in Tayport and Newport, helping make it easier to attend each week.

Get Involved

Although everyone is welcome to come along, we would appreciate an email beforehand so we can ensure enough meals are prepared for everyone.

If you would simply like to see what the Lunch Club is like before joining, you are very welcome to come along for the morning and stay until 12 noon to enjoy a chat, a cup of tea and meet our members before deciding if the Lunch Club is right for you.

Who Can Attend?

The Lunch Club is open to anyone aged 65 and over. While our transport service is available for residents of Tayport and Newport, we welcome members from surrounding areas who are able to make their own way to the venue.

Supporting Our Community

The Lunch Club is one of the community support services provided by Castle Furniture Project.

Every donation, purchase and furniture delivery helps us continue providing opportunities for older people to come together, enjoy companionship and remain connected within their local community.
