Supporting the Dementia Cafe at the Victoria Hospital

Updated: Dec 21, 2022

We are Castle are lucky enough to work with other amazing organisations, coming together to help each other make our communities a better place.

Recently we were approached by the Bus Stop Cafe to see if we could help them out with some kitchen items.

We were delighted when we received a little thank you note.

Dear Castle Furniture,

On behalf of Amy Fox (Senior Charge Nurse Ward 32) and I we would like to say a very big thank you for the kitchen items that you kindly donated to the Bus Stop Cafe. It is very much appreciated.

To celebrate Dementia Awareness Week we held an official opening on Wednesday.

The room was previously an under-used day room and with help from Karen Masters who is a Curator of Therapeutic Design it was refurbished to create a 1960's style cafe. The patients on this ward predominantly have a diagnosis of dementia, so a cafe in this style helps to promote reminiscence, as well as providing a stimulating and fun environment for everyone enjoying refreshments in the room.

The ward is very grateful for your donation to the project.

Here is a short film clip that allows you to see the outcome of your support https://youtu.be/ZNkHNFcb4c4

Many thanks once again.
